Members of various LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS organizations gathered on Saturday for a barbecue to relaunch a free, LGBTQ-friendly HIV testing site in Candler Park.
The SPOT, which also provides STI testing, healthcare referrals and sexual health information, opened in October at The Rush Center.
The project is a joint venture of the Rush Center, Thrive SS, Georgia Equality, AbsoluteCare Medical Center & Pharmacy and Atlanta Harm Reduction Coalition. It’s funded through a $75,000 grant from the pharmaceutical company Gilead.
Guests enjoyed free games, food and drinks at the event.
