The Atlanta Dream, fresh from a three-week break like the rest of the WNBA, returns to the court tomorrow. They face the Connecticut Sun, which has twice beaten them this season.
But the return of the Dream fills a void—the Olympics are over and the Braves have collapsed so there’s not much happening with the local pro teams. Sure, the Falcons are warming up for the season, but they don’t open until Sept. 7.
The game tomorrow will be packed, with nearly 9,000 tickets sold, the team says, putting it close to the 10,000-seat capacity of Philips Arena for Dream games. It’s “Dream Pink” night with a theme build around supporting breast cancer awareness. R&B artist Jarvis headlines the halftime performance and Ludacris is also expected to be on hand. Also on tap for game night is a “Women of Inspiration Night,” which will recognize 19 women who make a difference in their community.
Tip-off is 7:30 p.m.
