Always talking and smiling gay Bravo exec Andy Cohen stopped in Atlanta on Wednesday to eat at Chick-fil-A. Yes, there. And dish with a few hundred girlfriends about gay marrying Anderson Cooper, going after gay haters and “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”

Cohen, a creature of pop culture, apparently missed—until a gay brought him up to speed—the irony of eating at Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A. How he knows about Blake’s but missed the ongoing controversy over the anti-gay waffle fries is puzzling. Even more so when you consider one of his trips to Atlanta was to pick up the HRC Visibility Award.

Back to the Justin Bieber appearance. There were some gays sprinkled in the crowd of about 300 at SCAD Atlanta. But they were tough to spot amongst all of the young straight women, side ponies and hand-crafted t-shirts expressing their love for a man they’ll never have. And the ladies. Oh the ladies. The auditorium had the feel of a Bieber appearance. Screams. Crushing crowds when it was time for photographs with Cohen. An unruly mess.

Or it could be described this way: Brides at a dress sale. Even RuPaul, shirtless college rugby players and Chelsea Handler didn’t prompt this kind of disorder among the gays when they hit Atlanta. Gay boys are just more orderly around celebs.

Cohen handled it well and didn’t shy away from tough or embarrassing questions. Yes, he’d gay marry CNN’s Cooper, he says “fuck” too much on the radio and his last celebrity shag? Well, we can’t give everything away. Watch the video.

Cohen’s appearance was sponsored by SCAD and A Cappella Books to promote Cohen’s new tome, “Most Talkative: Stories from the Front Lines of Pop Culture.” You can listen to Cohen narrate an exclusive clip from the book, too.
