What makes a winner at the Atlanta Pride Parade? Just ask Delta and Coca-Cola. And the Eagle? Yup, they all were among the entries dubbed best in show at the annual parade on Sunday.
A committee of five people made the sections, though some seemed like sentimental favorites. There was the Eagle, which has gained a healthy helping of empathy from LGBT folks since the Atlanta Police Department stormed the bar and arrested eight people Sept. 10. Then there was YouthPride. Who doesn’t love a gay kid?
And others seemed like smart business decisions. Delta and Coke are Pride’s biggest sponsors, after all.
The full list of winners, which were picked from among the nearly 170 entries in the parade:

2nd: No Mas Cantina
3rd: Atlanta Eagle
1st: YouthPride (bottom photo)

3rd: ROTC of St. Petersburg, Fla.
