More than 8,000 registered walkers took part in the 19th Annual AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run on Sunday, helping to boost what organizers hope will be more than $1 million raised from the annual event to support AID Atlanta and eight other beneficiaries.

Before the walk kicked off, several people—including U.S. Rep. John Lewis, event spokespeople Robby Astrove and Danielle Arellano and Tracy Elliott, executive director of AID Atlanta—spoke to the walkers and runners in Piedmont Park. Watch the video of their speeches below.
