Dwight Eubanks does everything over-the-top. Whether it’s as the gay sidekick on “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” in his wardrobe, or at his eclectic home, he goes big or not at all. Six turkeys at Thanksgiving? Check.
Eubanks and his stunning home get the star treatment in “Celebrity Splurge,” an Atlanta Journal-Constitution feature that takes us on a photographic tour of the how the other half lives. Even better, they drop in nuggets from the homeowner that provide additional insight—or in the case of Eubanks, proof that he’s one queen who isn’t afraid to put it all out there.
“When I moved into this property it was destiny waiting to happen,” notes entrepreneur Dwight Eubanks, popularly known as the outspoken ‘Southern Sidekick’ on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” reality TV show. “It was where I was supposed to be at that time, and this is where I’m supposed to be now. Things just don’t happen. I just fell in love with it, it was perfect for me and my lifestyle.”
The photo gallery highlights his clothes as well as the home, which includes a blown glass butterfly sculpture in the colors of the rainbow flag. Coincidence? Probably not.
But consider these other tidbits from the interview: He cuts grass in a “pulled -together” outfit, which means no jeans; there’s a rule of no swimwear in the pool, which means nude; and he has no “Dwrongs” in his wardrobe. Uh-huh.
“That pool has done lots of entertaining,” says Eubanks. “My rule is no swimwear in the pool, swimwear messes up the chlorine count. That’s the only rule of the house. I’m sure my neighbors hate me because I sunbathe in the nude all the time. I just think that’s how it should be.”
Eubanks is the guest of honor at the annual gay romp known as the Jerusalem House Halloween Bash on Oct. 23. This year’s theme is “Carnevele After Dark.”
