The headline out of the Atlanta Executive Network’s Oct. 21 event was Mayor Kasim Reed’s remarks about the Eagle raid. But the mixer offered more than that.
The gay networking group traveled to West Midtown to bourrée with the Atlanta Ballet at its expansive headquarters on Marietta Boulevard. There were few pirouettes, but plenty of cocktailing and touring at the Michael C. Carlos Dance Centre, which the Ballet moved into last summer. The troupe last weekend closed a successful run of “Moulin Rouge – The Ballet.” On Nov. 27, its highly-popular “Nutcracker” opens for a four-week run.
Then there was Reed, who keynoted the event in the most engaging and personable appearance by the mayor in front of an LGBT audience since he took office in January.
AEN is keeping its schedule full for November. On Tuesday, the group went OTP for networking at Avisca Fine Art Gallery in Marietta. On Nov. 11, it’s Mix & Mingle at Bellissima and a week later, it’s a co-hosted networking dinner at Varasano’s Pizzeria in Midtown with the Atlanta Women’s Business Network.
