The Midtown hotspot 10th & Piedmont doesn’t spare the gay when it unveils its new dinner and a movie series on Tuesday with a lineup made for dancing queens. ABBA, anyone?
The restaurant, which opened its sleek space in the former Outwrite Bookstore in December, has done gay photography. Now, they want gay diners, too. So they’ve added an HD projector and big screen and are debuting Big Table Big Screen Tuesdays with a movie lineup made with gays in mind. “Mamma Mia!” debuts the series on March 26, with not gay John Travolta and “Grease” on April 2 and definitely not gay Hugh Jackman and “Les Miserables” on April 9.
“After we installed an HD projector and a big screen, we thought why don’t we view some of the community’s favorite movies, which are viewed at Screen on the Green at Piedmont Park,” says co-owner Sean Yeremyan. “We asked our guests to see if this would be something interesting to them. The answer was very positive.”
So here’s how the 8 p.m. offering works: The movie comes with a salad, two small plates from their special menu and the dessert of the day. All for $15. Then there’s the $6 Absolut cocktails.
“It is an exceptional deal and it is fun, since you do it with friends,” Yeremyan says.
