Thousands of people walked, marched and cheered their way through the Atlanta Pride parade, which treated Midtown to hours of rainbow revelry on Sunday.

Organizers said the event could go down as the largest yet, with 230 entries and some 7,500 participants. There were Dykes on Bikes, elected officials, strippers, LGBT first responders, non-profits, churches, gay-friendly brands and a dozen grand marshals.

There were even protesters, though they couldn't be bothered to stick around until the very end.

Among the entries, a panel of judges picked their very best. The Latin Gay Association took top honors for non-profits, at least the third year its won for its float. (Athens Pride took second place.) Among small businesses, Ballooned Away won first place with the cowboys of Swinging Richards taking second. For companies, Newell Rubbermaid took the top spot, with Gayborhood placing second.

Before the parade, there were marches – one for trans people and another for dykes. A kickoff party at the Georgia Aquarium got the Pride celebration going on Friday.
