Of all the tips on how to use Grindr and other gay cruising apps, there is a cardinal rule: Don’t get killed. Or maimed. Or robbed. Atlanta cops will walk you through others on Thursday during an informal chat at Bearbucks.
So join the agency’s LGBT liaisons for Cyber Dating Public Safety Short Talk.
In response to crime related to cyber dating the Atlanta Police LGBT Liaison Unit will be presenting a Cyber Dating Public Safety Short Talk at the Starbucks in Ansley Mall, 1544 Piedmont Rd on Thursday June 20th, 7pm. They will discuss some of the common dangers of dating online and how to avoid becoming a victim of a scam or a thief. Citizens will also learn how and when to report an internet crime. The event is open to all.
Assume from the boner kill title of the session that this won’t be a kiki about making more effective Grindr profiles. (Our tip: better selfies, less prison rape.) Their advice, after all, tends to be a little prudish. But hey, advice on how not to get killed is almost as helpful, right? Right.
And remember, Starbucks fans: No smoking.
