The gay jocks of Atlanta Bucks Rugby Football Club delivered a diverse smorgasbord in a “Meat Raffle” bachelor auction at Woofs on Feb. 10. Each date up for bids came complete with actual charcuterie and deli selections.

People down for fresh meat in their dating life and up for supporting the squad turned out to bid on bachelors paired with cuts of meat and date specifics like restaurants and sight-seeing destinations. Ten date packages included single dates, double dates, and group dates.

“A lot of bachelor auctions can get wrapped up in appearance and people can forget to have a good time,” Bucks president Blair Dempster told Q in advance of the event. “We want the guys being auctioned off to have fun, we want the date packages to be unique and enjoyable, and we want the people attending the auction to enjoy themselves.”

Some $5,000 raised during the event goes to help fund the team’s June trip to the international Bingham Cup tournament, held this year in Amsterdam. The tourney is named in honor of gay 911 hero Mark Bingham.
