imageThe gentlemen debutantes known as Atlanta Cotillion began their months-long fundraising season with Cocktails at Saks: A Night of Luxury on Thursday, where they got a private peek at Saks’ Men’s Store.

Cotillion’s season leads up to the annual Atlanta Cotillion Ball in September, where a new class of drag “debutantes” competes to raise the most money for charity. The guy in his drag alter ego who raises the most is crowned queen (view photos from 2010). The ball welcomes male guests in evening-formal drag as well as ladies and gents in their finest black-tie attire. As always, this year’s 10th annual event benefits AID Atlanta.

Guests mingled (top photo) as models in the latest spring fashions (second photo) circulated among complimentary cocktails, hors d’oeuvres by Soiree Catering, service by Delta Air Lines’ in-flight crews, and beats by DJay McCracken (bottom photo).

imageA men’s collections trunk show, raffles and prizes were also on tap, all for an entrance donation to get the fundraising ball rolling. Saks also donated 10 percent of all purchases during the event to the cause.

And Cocktails at Saks is just the beginning. Long before September’s ball, look for dozens of fun fundraisers by the individual debs in the coming months, as well as the Cotillion board’s Studs & Suds Car Wash and Cotillion Auction & Cabaret that go toward the annual contribution to AID Atlanta.
