imageWhen it comes to the male human form, four artists go in distinctly different expressive directions to form the “Body & Soul” art exhibit, which opened to a packed house on Saturday at pb&j gallery.

The gay-owned Kirkwood art space gave us a preview of the sexy images for our Morning Fix last week before the show opened, and it turns out those pieces were just the tip of the artistic iceberg. Speaking of icebergs, if the play of light, shadow and bodies in the exhibit weren’t enough, drinks and hors d’oeurves helped thaw the chilly opening night, too.

image“Body & Soul” features figurative photography by Bob Burkhardt, Tania Calderón, John Cassoni and Rob Simmons. The artists took the theme and ran, from rich color to stark black and white, from figure studies to abstractions.

This isn’t the first time pb&j has titillated with its exhibits. Our shutterbug was snapping as fast as he could as models, artists and fans gathered for the fleshy “Body + Space,” which added heat to an already balmy night last June.
