Armorettes go big for 33rd revelry [photos]

If you’re a troupe of campy drag queens, how do you celebrate 33 years of charity fundraising? With two nights of shows. And doughnuts. The Armorettes are big girls, you know.

Not content to just taint your holidays, the Armorettes and their go big and then go home approach took over Burkhart’s on Jan. 14-15 for their annual anniversary celebration. The two nights of revelry offered a long list of special guests, former Armorettes and at least one dead one who’s been resurrected.

Even better, the Armorettes capped the celebration with a $13,000 donation to each of two non-profits — the MISTER program of Positive Impact and AID Gwinnett’s Ric Crawford Clinic. That tops last year’s anniversary donation of $19,500 split among three organizations.
