Come on, queens. Our Facebook feeds are full of your wedding announcements and photos. Surely more of you can represent in a citywide contest better than the measly three pics shared so far in the #AJCwedding contest.
The annual Atlanta Gets Married feature of local couples who got married in 2014 celebrates the wedded bliss with reader-submitted wedding photos from all around the metro area. But seriously, only three lesbian couples out of all those man-on-man and girl-on-girl kisses we’ve seen since January? We think not.
Besides already submitted photos from Kelsey Mewborn and her honey, Terri and Kathy Morrow, or Dianna and Cher Singleton (below, top to bottom), there must be some other cute same-sex couples from the I Do Marathon in Piedmont Park. Maybe Atlanta Opera star David Daniels (top photo) could stop singing long enough to enter, or that pair with double-digit weddings in every legal state ought to have a ton of photos.
Even if marriage equality still sucks in Georgia, surely at least one in the endless variety of pairs from the Atlanta Pride Commitment Ceremony would like to be up for a “wedding of the year” photo prize when the AJC entries are compiled? Let’s go, people! Don’t wait until you’re dead.
Putting your gay on the contest and representing for the LGBT-ATL is simple.
