AID Atlanta puts purpose on partying poolside

Add this share

The third annual AID Atlanta pool party served Gay Festive Realness to the people at Heights Armour on Saturday. Despite our photos, the cocktailing, drag-queening, raffling, sunning mayhem did not feature Barbara Eden.

On close inspection, that curvaceous blonde with the huge melons in our gallery is not the 82-year-old “I Dream of Jeannie” actress, 55-year-old all-plastic Barbie doll, nor the slightly younger than that Amanda LePore. That’s performer Danielle Hunter, who worked hosting and entertaining duties alongside Nicole Paige Brooks. Several Atlanta Cotillion queens giving us swimsuit category attitude were also on hand.

To help maximize donations, poolside queers enjoyed food, raffles and all-they-could-drink vodka punch, beer and soft drinks. Bonus: Vodka soaked gummi bears.
