Action Cycling pedals to raise big bucks for HIV research

More than 150 riders pedaled off during a damp start to the AIDS Vaccine 200 early Saturday, an annual two-day cycling event that raises big cash for the Emory Vaccine Center.

When they returned on Sunday, they celebrated. And for good reason:

Last year, the 200-mile bike ride event celebrated its 10th anniversary by raising a record $297,500 to benefit the vaccine center, Jerusalem House and Positive Impact. In 2011, the event raised $223,479.
