The City of Atlanta is giving late night bar crawlers three extra hours to party on the final day of Atlanta Pride weekend.
The Atlanta City Council unanimously passed an ordinance on Sept. 16 that moves closing time on Pride Sunday into Monday from midnight to 3 a.m.
The move was made “to accommodate the festive nature of this special and unique event,” according to the ordinance.
Atlanta Pride fans have come to expect this annual rite of passage from the city. Just know that last call will be at 2:30 a.m.
Atlanta City Councilmembers Jennifer Ide, Amir Farokhi and Carla Smith and Antonio Brown sponsored the ordinance. Brown is the sole openly LGBTQ member of the council.
The Atlanta Pride Festival is Oct. 12-13 in Piedmont Park
