Cazwell brought his fun mix of electrified dance music and old school hip hop to Jungle on Thursday, energizing a crowd there to cheer on the gay rapper during his first-ever stop in Atlanta.
Cazwell (top, bottom photos) knows how to tap into pop culture online, quickly capturing millions of YouTube hits with his video for “I Seen Beyoncé at Burger King” (2008) and again with last year’s “Ice Cream Truck” packed with bootylicious hunks accompanying him in little more than boxers or shorts. He performed both songs during his set on Thursday.
The appearance by Cazwell, the 33-year-old life of the New York nightlife scene, capped the four-week run of the ManHot competition at Jungle. The contest opened Aug. 25 (view photos) and featured weekly doses of beefcake competing for a panel of judges to clinch a spot in Thursday’s finale.
Cazwell’s stop in Atlanta also came a week after transgender model and artist Amanda Lepore performed at Jungle. Cazwell was executive producer and songwriter for Lepore’s “I … Amanda Lepore” debut album that dropped earlier this year.
Up next for Jungle: Gay DJ Phil Romano from Rome spins on Saturday and Roland Belmares – you know, that Joining Hearts guy – appears on Sept. 24.
