Project Q Atlanta is so excited about Out on Film, we had to have our very own day. We host Sunday with giveaways and a can’t-miss lineup of films, including two world premieres.
Besides great films, we want you to have something to remember us by. Join us Sunday to have your picture snapped on the Out on Film red carpet, and look for it in our photo galleries next week.
We’re also offering multiple chances to win prizes, tickets and gift certificates from generous sponsors. Giveaways include dinners at Midtown’s spiciest gay party and food spot Las Margaritas and Radial Café, the breakfast hotspot that recently morphed its menu and is now also open for dinner.
We also have prizes provided by the gay gifts and sundries shop Brushstrokes that’s all stocked up on Pride paraphernalia right now, and tickets to see the new High Museum of Art exhibit “Picasso to Warhol” modern masters exhibit opening on Oct. 15. If you want to win something racier of the all-male, all-nude variety, Swinging Richards offers passes to some lucky Project Q Day visitors as well.
And of course, it’s all about the movies. Click on any of the highlighted titles below to read previews and watch trailers.
• “Legalize Gay: The Civil Rights Movement of a New Generation” (World Premiere), 1 p.m., followed by Q&A with director Christopher Hines
• “Mary Lou,” 2:30 p.m.
• “Man 2 Man: A Gay Man’s Guide to Finding Love,” (World Premiere), 5:30 p.m. , followed by a Dating Game interactive with director Christopher Hines.
• “The Green,” 7:20 p.m.
• “Buffering,” 9:10 p.m.
The world premieres of “Legalize Gay” (top photo), a documentary on a new generation of rights fights that will see it next premiere on Logo, and the unflinching look at gay male relationships in “Man 2 Man” (bottom photo, top trailer video) are each presented with an appearance by director Christopher Hines, a former Atlantan. Hines is the Out on Film darling of previous years’ “The Butch Factor” and “The Adonis Factor.”
