The best Pride things to do in Atlanta this weekend

It’s big, it’s beautiful, and you’re going to love it. That’s the promise of dozens of LGBTQ ATL events as the queer South takes on its biggest weekend of the year, where people, parties and politics collide with Pride.

Friday, Oct. 12

Atlanta Pride Kickoff Party.  The official start to Atlanta Pride weekend includes DJ beats and thousands of friends @ Georgia Aquarium, 7 p.m.

DJ Tony Moran’s Aquarium Afterparty.  Keep the official Pride vibes going with legendary beats @ Heretic, 9 p.m.

Brewery Pride Night.   Jerusalem House benefits from LGBTQ beer lovers downing local brew to celebrate the season @ SweetWater Brewery, 4:20 p.m.

Nude Yoga. An hour of flow followed by partner poses, this session in honor of Pride Weekend. Find all their events by searching EventBrite @ SPANA Yoga, 7 p.m.

Blitz. MSR, Starz and Yvonne Monet team for this official women’s afterparty with Whitney Mixter from “The L-Word,” two dance floors, four DJs, Go-go dancers, plus VIP tables with a private bar @ Publico, 9 p.m.

RuPride with Willam. The queens you love doing what you love with RPDR guest stars @ Ten, 9 p.m.

The Other Pride Show.  Edie Cheezburger and her kooky queens work Atlanta’s newest gay bar @ Midtown Tavern, 9:30 p.m. 

PAPA: Heroes.  The world-famous gay Israeli party invades Atlanta with DJs Oscar Velazquez and Sean Michael @ Southern Exchange Ballrooms, 10 p.m.

Heaven Pride Party.  The annual lesbian stalwart starts its weekend with live music, DJs and scores of women @ Park Tavern, 9 p.m.

Pride Strippers. The go-go boys get a boost from guest stars dancing on the bar @ BJ Roosters, 9 p.m.

Mariconera Pride. Party with queer Latin vibes in East Atlanta @ Mary’s, 9 p.m.

Sugar Shack.  It’s a hipster’s dream “queer Pride dance party” in EAV @ 529, 10 p.m.

Pride Glow Party.  Queerly Beloved Revue stages its weekend-appropriate acts for the ladies @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.

Femme!  Dance, music and performance art with a queer bent @ Deep End, 10 p.m.

House of Aloha.   DJ Pat Scott welcomes your leather-with florals combos @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m. 

Pride Celestial Friday with Celeste Holmes puts the grrls on display for your entertainment and your dollars. Don’t forget Second Level beats upstairs @ Blake’s, 11 p.m.

Pride Dinner Theater. Charlie Brown, the undisputed Bitch of the South and her gurlz entertain with dinner and a show amid the fancy theater experience of Atlanta’s premiere drag restaurant and bar. Make Reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m.

Pride Friday & Moonlight Cabaret. Early drag to wrap your week, 8 p.m. and drag eleganza fabulosity with Shavonna B. Brooks and Raquel Lord to kick off the weekend, 11 p.m. There's also a movie on the patio bar @ Midtown Moon, 7 p.m.

Xion Afterhours. DJ Martin Fry moves you ‘til sunrise @ BJ Roosters, 3 a.m. – 7 a.m.

 

Saturday, Oct. 13

Atlanta Pride.  Duh. Hundreds of vendors are peppered with events @ Piedmont Park, all day. Events in the park include, but are by no means limited to, Pride Yoga 10 a.m., Pride Car Show 10:45 a.m.,  Pride Comedy Showcase 12 noon, Trans March 1:15 p.m., Mike Posner & Bebe Rexha Concert, 2 p.m., Drag Queen Storytime 4 p.m., Shooting Star Cabaret 4:55 p.m., Dyke March 5 p.m., and the Queer Your Gender Dance Party 7 p.m.

Bottoms Up Pride Brunch. Drag queens and food with the Wussy crew @ Deep End, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

GyM Pride Party for Joining Hearts. The gay owned taco place on the BeltLine does drink specials to benefit Joining Hearts @ Guac y Margys, 12:30 p.m.

Queen Butch. An outdoor dance party with DJs Cuntera and William Francis, plus patio boys and lots of surprises @ Midtown Tavern, 1 p.m.

Peach Fuzz. DJ Seth Breezy headlines a T-dance with beefy beats @ Opera, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Pride #Daydrunk. Drink specials put you to bed early or make you the life of the party as the sun drops @ Mary’s, 2:30 p.m. Do it, and you may not remember what you did during the regularly scheduled shenanigans, 9 p.m.

Pride Glitz & Glam with Charlie Brown. The self-titled Bitch of the South and her girlsentertain with dinner and a show in the theater experience of Atlanta’s drag restaurant and bar. Make reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m. 

Nine: New Perspectives. A collection of artists present the latest exhibition on the gay-owned walls @ pb&j gallery, 7 p.m.

Peep Show.  RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Alaska Thunderfuck headlines Wussy’s Pride party @ Deep End, 9 p.m.

Todrick Hall’s Electric Circus. The man himself hosts this night of looks and dancing @ Opera, 9 p.m.

Rise.  DJ Phil B brings the house down @ Heretic, 9 p.m.

DJ Kraax Block Party. Jay McCracken is back in town playing outside during the three-day block party @ Ten, 9 p.m.

Monsters of Pride. Queens including Miss Atlanta Pride put on a blowout show @ Midtown Tavern, 10 p.m.

DJ Abel’s Main Event.  DJ Abel and Phoenix host this dancing-queen throwdown @ Tabernacle, 10 p.m.

Deep South Pride. Vicki Powell welcomes the one and only Octo Octa to do the honors and go deep @ Music Room, 10 p.m.  Afterparty to follow, 3 a.m. 

Untitled and Unapologetic. The event for “unapologetically black and queer folks @ 485 Edgewood, 10 p.m.

Geared. DJ Neon the Glowgobear kicks Saturday into high gear @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.

Pride Pop! Popup drag and Popup men werqs Saturday night into a frenzy @ Blake’s, 10 p.m.

Gurlfrandz Pride. The EAV show that’s always the best kind of mess gets its ante upped @ Mary’s, 10:30 p.m.

After Hours. Soulful house music by resident DJs presented by Culmination Productions keeps you partying as late as you want @ Tokyo Valentino, 2 a.m.

Xion Afterhours. DJ Paulo moves you ‘til sunrise @ BJ Roosters, 3 a.m. – 7 a.m.

 

Sunday, Oct. 14

Atlanta Pride.  The day of vendors and stage acts continues @ Piedmont Park, all day, including, but by no means limited to the signature Atlanta Pride Parade 11 a.m., Sweet Tea Variety Show 3:30 p.m., Sunday Concert 3:30 p.m., and the Starlight Cabaret, 7 p.m.

HRC Pride Brunch.  Choice parade seats while you nosh and raise funds @ Empire State South, 10:30 a.m.

Gospel Brunch. Singing queens while you eat from an amazing smorgasbord of serving stations @ Midtown Moon, 11 a.m.

Papi’s Pride Brunch. The best Latin Fusion restaurant on Cheshire Bridge does unlimited menu and drink specials like nobody else @ Las Margaritas, 12 noon – 5 p.m.

Ten Parade Party. DJs Mike Pope and Cindel headline an all-day, all-night Pride celebration outside and inside @ Ten, 12 noon – 3 a.m.

Henry’s Parade Party. Brunch and patio fun with a kid-friendly parade-watching vibe @ Henry’s, 12 noon.

Pride NFL Sunday Funday. All the games and matches on the screens, and all the guys to watch it with @ Woofs, 12 noon.

Pride Drag Brunch Theatre. The Sisters of Sequins with Bubba D. Licious at the wheel while you eat @ Lips, 12:30 p.m. Walk-ins welcome. Or sleep in and do Pride Dinner with the Divas, 6:30 p.m.

Pride Midtown Rouge. First, it’s High Energy and DJ Bill Berdeaux, 1 p.m., then the legendary Sunday drag show kicks off with an all-star cast including Raquell Lorde @ Blake's, 8:30 p.m.

Sugar. DJ Jesus Pelayo pumps up the boys during this tea dance @ Loca Luna, 4 p.m.

Pride Democrats Meet & Greet. State Reps Park Cannon and Sam Park, plus candidate Sarah Riggs Amico chill with supporters @ My Sister’s Room, 4 p.m.

Pride Sunday Service. DJ Vicki Powell’s monthly party gets its Pride on @ Sister Louisa’s Church of the Living Room, 7 p.m.

Pride Closing Party. DJs Joe Gauthreaux and Jose Montanez beat you into submission @ Opera, 9 p.m.

Super Collider. DJ Mister Richard closes out Pride festivities @ Atlanta Eagle, 9 p.m.

DILF: Out & Proud Underwear Party.  Joe Whitaker does it again, this time with Australia’s DJ Kitty Glitter and you in your skivvies @ Heretic, 10 p.m.

After Hours. Urban Hip Hop all night by resident DJs, plus 15 dancers and three levels to party presented by Culmination Productions keeps you partying as late as you want @ Tokyo Valentino, 11 p.m.

Xion Afterhours. DJ Isaac Escalante moves you ‘til sunrise @ BJ Roosters, 3 a.m. – 7 a.m.
