Friday, Jan. 18
Ellie Goulding (second photo) sings her ever-lovin heart out for the gay boys and girls who can’t get enough of her. Get there for the opening act, St. Lucia. @ Tabernacle, 8 p.m.
Convergence Friday with Atlanta Bucks brings on a special edition of the gay rugby team’s First Friday beer, wings and hot dog bust. Hang with the team and some of the guests of Rugger Convergence Weekend (top photo) @ Heretic, 8 p.m., followed by DJ Lydia Prim pumping the dance floor, 10 p.m.
Bitch Please party lays on thick your monthly does of trouble with DJs Fluff and Ree de la Vega. Atlanta Radical Faeries run the shots, and you provide the mayhem @ Mary’s, 9 p.m.
The Other Show puts out the most unique drag cabaret in town each week. Join Edie Cheezburger and her girls @ Jungle in the Jungle Room, 9:30 p.m., followed by Jungle Pop in the Main Room, 11 p.m.
Hotlanta Rubber Night is the monthly event for Atlanta’s gay men who like it slick and shiny. They get together in their gear @ Atlanta Eagle, 11 p.m.
Wassup N ATL: Freedom MLK Weekend (third photo) includes dancers, porn stars, models and multiple DJs all weekend. Get things started with Wassup @ Legends, 10 p.m.
Panochas Drag Race 3: La Final Gran wraps weeks of the hottest drag competition that has spiced up Got Leche, the weekly gay Latin night @ Club Rush, 10 p.m. – 4 a.m.
MLK Black Carpet Extravaganza. It’s grown. It’s sexy. It’s a full weekend of Rockstars Production events, and it’s hot hot hot. It all starts @ the Presidential Room, 10 p.m. – 4 a.m.
Banjee Girl Friday: MLK is a special edition of the weekly TraxxGirls night with lesbians turning it the hell out for the holiday weekend @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 19
“Survivor” Photo Show benefits PALS. Explore the human form with photographer Laurie Edward and his model Corey Allen at this opening for striking visual statements (fourth photo) about addiction, beauty and triumph on display @ 10th & Piedmont, 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Maybe stick around after, because 10th & Piedmont is super cute for dinner.
Lisa Lampanelli brings her gay-lovin irreverent comedy back to the ATL for one night only @ Tabernacle, 7 p.m.
Rugger Convergence Weekend welcomes teams from the gay rugby association to town for a no-match weekend full of burly rugby studs for fellowship and fun with an epicenter @ Atlanta Marriott Midtown, through Monday. Includes Saturday night’s Atlanta Bucks Rugby Convergence Bar Night @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.
Bedlam: WackedOut BlackOut (fifth photo) debuts its glow-in-the-dark black light fun to a whole new crowd. Dress to mess, and in as little clothing as possible, because there’ll be glow paint all over you and yours as DJs Shane V and Bill Berdeaux pump beats with performances by Kryean Kally and Jordan Melton @ Jungle, 10 p.m. View past BlackOut photos.
Armorettes 34th Anniversary Weekend sees the first of two shows to celebrate with the current cast as well as retired favorites from the ever-lengthening history of the local camp crazies for a cause. That Time of the Month Comedy Show and the Girly Girl Femme Revue brings on six queer comedians hosted by Julie Osborne, plays host to a show by the girliest girl femmes and of course the the ladies just keep dancing all night with DJ Tina V @ My Sister’s Room, 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Movement: King Weekend Bash with Tamar Braxton (sixth photo) cranks up the volume on Traxx Atlanta for the MLK holiday. Jaw dropping hot body contest, VIP sections, strong drinks and gorgeous men with the baby Braxton in the house @ Xcess Ultra Lounge, 10 p.m.

Sunday Sleaze opens up East Atlanta’s favorite gay dive for “Deep & Dirty Disco, House and Pop” with DJ Ellisorous Rexon a special holiday Sunday open and pouring @ Mary’s, 9 p.m.

Annual MLK Day March & Rally meets on the northeast corner of Peachtree and Ellis Streets to form an LGBT contingent to march with LGBT honorary grand marshal Cortez Wright. Head from the Rustin/Lorde breakfast to gather with the gays at 1:45 p.m., march 2 p.m., Rally following the march in King National Park on Auburn Avenue.
