Joining Hearts launched its season of raising funds for HIV charities on Saturday, celebrating Valentine's with its annual Love on the Rocks event.
DJ Mike Pope filled the cavernous upscale Midtown space at Cantoni with music as guests enjoyed tasty treats, cocktails and an evening of fun.
Love on the Rocks is a Valentine's tradition. Next up is Change of Seasons this spring and the main event – that ablicious pool party in Piedmont Park – in July. Beer busts and other fundraisers will fill the social calendar. The series of events during the year allows Joining Hearts to donate nearly $200,000 to agencies that help people with HIV.
In 2016, Joining Hearts shifted gears to expand its mission to fight HIV head on. And by year's end, the organization donated $193,662 to eight agencies – AID Atlanta ($22,500), Jerusalem House ($66,496), Living Room ($58,000), Positive Impact ($5,000), Grady IDP ($5,000), Action Cycling Atlanta ($2,500), Open Hand Atlanta ($14,166) and Lost N Found Youth ($15,000).
