Gay Atlanta gets dressed up when in ‘Rome’

LGBTQ Atlantans donned their armor and togas for a Roman-themed costume party at Heretic on Saturday.

The event came courtesy of Saturnalia Productions, who plan to make it a quarterly affair. The legendary Brett Oosterhaus came down from New York City to man the DJ booth for the night.

There was a charity component to the night, which benefited Pets Are Loving Support and Empowerment Resource Center.

“It’s not your typical ‘formula’ party,” event organizers Kevin Phillips and Marc Hammer said in an event preview. “It is much more on many levels. We not only want us and everyone else to have a good time, but we also want to help our community. At the end of the day, we are all part of one community, and we found a way to glue everyone together at one event, which we feel does not happen enough.”
