R&B singer and reality show contestant Frenchie Davis will headline the entertainment lineup for HRC’s gala dinner in Atlanta next month.

Organizers of the 25th Anniversary Atlanta Gala Dinner & Auction, set for May 5, announced the addition of Davis on Tuesday:

Frenchie Davis is an R&B singer and contestant on the second season of American Idol.  Davis performed in Rent on Broadway in 2003 which ran for 4 years. In 2011 Davis became a semi-finalist and came in Second place on Christina Aguilera’s team on the first season of The Voice.  A Grammy Award Nominee, Davis will be releasing the video (directed by Brian Friedman-Britney Spears and X Factor) called “Love’s Got A Hold On Me,” which is the debut single from Frenchie’s upcoming self titled CD “Frenchie” which will be released in the summer of 2012.

Popular gay Atlanta DJ Mike Pope will spin for the event’s after party, which is set for 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. following the dinner.

In March, organizers said that U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin, a lesbian hoping to become the nation’s first openly gay senator, will keynote the dinner. In February, HRC organizers announced during a pre-dinner reception that the Health Initiative and Rev. Phillip Thomason will receive local awards at the gala.

In 2011, the dinner took on a decidedly Hollywood feel with appearances by gay filmmaker Lee Daniels and Atlanta celebrity Mo’Nique.
