You know what’s up. It’s hot outside, and you want some relief. Enter these plays, parties and participation sports that make an LGBT weekend of summer events in Atlanta like no other.

Friday, July 28

“Zanna, Don’t!” (top photo) opens at Atlanta’s local gay theater company. Welcome to Heartsville High, a parallel universe where gay is the norm and straight is ostracized @ Out Front Theatre, 8 p.m. Saturday too.

Fourth Friday Networking. Atlanta Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce throws its monthly happy hour to wind down your workweek @ Residence Inn Midtown, 5:30 p.m.

Heathers: The Musical. The camp classic you love live on stage as a musical. Don’t miss it through Aug. 13 at OnStage Atlanta, 8 p.m.

The Other Show. Come to the unique weekly drag cabaret with an eclectic cast and special guests that always pack a surprise @ Jungle, 9 p.m.

Boys Room. Hang with the cool kids in East Atlanta @ Mary’s, 9 p.m.

DJ Eric gets the weekend going @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.

Fresh Face Friday puts the newest drag glamazons on display, 9:30 p.m., then the Femme Fatale crew does what legends do best @ Burkhart’s, 11 p.m.

Glitz & Glam Dinner Theater. Charlie Brown, the undisputed Bitch of the South and her gurlz entertain with dinner and a show amid the fancy theater experience of Atlanta’s premiere drag restaurant and bar. Make Reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m.

Celestial Friday. Celeste Holmes hosts the show “where the stars come out” and puts the grrls on display for your entertainment and your dollars, plus Second Level beats upstairs @ Blake’s, 11 p.m.

Ladies Lounge. Get your lesbian weekend started with a DJ-driven dance party, live performances and scores of women in the new Midtown home of Atlanta lesbian nightlife @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m. 

 

Saturday, July 29

DJ Roland Belmares (middle photo) invites you to Go, queen, go! It’s just you, him and the music all night @ Jungle, 10:30 p.m. Get there early for Fantasy Girls, 9 p.m.

Hotlanta Classic. Two days of gay volleyball with teams from all over hosted by the Hotlanta Volleyball Association @ Tsunami Volleyball, all day. Sunday too.

#Daydrunk. Drink specials put you to bed early or make you the life of tonight’s party @ Mary’s, 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Do it, and you may not remember what you did during the regularly scheduled shenanigans, 10 p.m.

Trans Rights Rally. LGBTQ allies gather for a march of solidarity for transgender members of the armed services in light of the president's recent calling for their ouster. Gather @ 10th & Piedmont, 3 p.m.

Tony Humphries. The one and only House Music legend hits Atlanta for one amazing night of beat @ Wildpitch Underground, 9 p.m.

Michelle Malone. The local lesbian legend blues-rock croons her heart out for fans @ Eddie’s Attic, 9:30 p.m.

Megamix MegaParty with DJ Mr. Richard kicks Saturday into high gear @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.

Sizzling Startlets and Fever. The opening show is followed by the quintessential drag cast working for your dollars @ Burkhart's, 9:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. 

Glitz & Glam with Charlie Brown. The self-titled Bitch of the South and her girls entertain with dinner and a show in the theater experience of Atlanta’s drag restaurant and bar. Make reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m. 

GlitterBomb werqs Saturday night with a drag show hosted by Edie Cheezburger, a cast of premiere queens and special guests @ Blake’s, 10 p.m.

Afterhours really gets cranking when the party moves to Cheshire Bridge Road with DJs Cosmo and Tracy Levine @ Tokyo Valentino, 3 a.m. – 7 a.m.

 

Sunday, July 30

Hotlanta Classic (bottom photo). Two days of gay volleyball with teams from all over hosted by the Hotlanta Volleyball Association @ Tsunami Volleyball, all day.

Drag Brunch brings the Sisters of Sequins with Bubba D. Licious at the wheel while you eat @ Lips, 12:30 p.m. Walk-ins welcome. Or sleep in and do Dinner with the Divas, 6:30 p.m.

Sporty Sunday Funday. All the games and matches on the screens and all the guys to watch it with @ Woofs, 12 noon.

Live Love Pool Party. Enjoying yourself at this gorgeous pool with DJ, raffle and all the hot gay guys ever will help homeless people. Get there @ Atlantic House, 1 p.m.

Midtown Rouge. First it’s High Energy and DJ Bill Berdeaux, 1 p.m., then the legendary Sunday drag show kicks off with an all-star cast including Raquell Lorde @ Blake's, 8:30 p.m.

Wild Margarita Bust. Another HSL team headed to the Gay Softball World Series lets your icy green juice fuel the party @ Las Margaritas, 4 p.m.

Sunday Funday. The weekly tradition of dudes, DJs and drinks continues @ Ten, 4 p.m.

Armorettes. Atlanta’s camp drag crazies against HIV do their weekly good in the gayborhood @ Burkhart’s, 7:30 p.m.

Tossed Salad. The magic and madness masterminded by Brigitte Bidet and her left-of-center queens goes in hard @ Burkhart’s, 10:30 p.m.
