Ready 4 Hope opened its season of fundraising for HIV causes with food, fun and an afternoon of Bear-B-Q on Saturday at Heretic.
The fifth annual fun-in-the-sun-raiser included Ruby Redd as emcee and DJ Mike Pope, and came during a weekend celebrating Atlanta Bear Pride. The event stretched from Heretic's dance floor to a covered parking lot outside.
Bear-B-Q warms up the party-goers – as it's done in 2016, 2015, 2014 and its inaugural 2013 – before delivering a jam-packed Red Party Weekend in late summer.
Ready 4 Hope events raised funds for AIDS Walk Atlanta, which is held in October. Last year, the group donated nearly $44,000.
