Is there a better way to kick off the holiday season than an art exhibit called “Wonderland”? The crowd at Kai Lin Art on Friday would argue there’s probably not.
They were on hand for the opening of the seasonal exhibition, which is a group show that includes more than a dozen established and mid-career artists with ties to the Savannah College of Art and Design-Atlanta. Among them is gay artist Larry Jens Anderson, who delighted Pride goers with his “Only Dick, No Jane” exhibit at the W Atlanta Midtown in October. Anderson’s mixed-media works “Dick Learns to Draw” are his contribution to the Kai Lin exhibit.
In addition to Anderson, works by Kent Knowles, Carl Linstrum, Michael V Brown, Dale Clifford, Amanda Dumas, Richard Lovell, Mike Lowery, Brett Osborn, Alex Kvares, Robert Brown, Tom Francis, Matt Maloney, Ann-Marie Mankur, Lisa Hart, Matthew Burge, Kelley McClung, Jim Gladman and Alessandro Imperato are also included in “Wonderland.”
The gallery and gay owner Yu-Kai Lin (bottom photo center) provided an ideal Midtown setting for the opening, which also included a photo booth and music by the Medeology Collective’s live VJ show “X-Ray X-Mas.”
“Wonderland” runs through Jan. 22.
